Here’s a related investment strategy I might use if my
portfolio were a great deal larger than it is:
I’d buy VTI exclusively and hold it for the rest of my life, buying
more shares near the bottom of every major bear market.
Between acquisition points, I’d build cash by putting surpluses above living expenses into a mix of money-market funds and MLPs.
