AAII’s Joseph Piotroski strategy tends to do very, very well
when many others of the 77 strategies followed by the American Association of
Individual Investors are doing not so well.
Once again, that’s the story of 2013 in this year to date
through May 31. The spring pullback was a disaster for most of the 77 AAII
stock-selection alternatives. Meanwhile, the Piotroski approach shows a
stunning YTD gain of 83.7%. At
this writing, only four stocks are shown as passing the Piotroski criteria.
SKYW leads them. It is based on
low price to book value.
Also, the Piotroski’s annual price gain shows double digits
for the last 10, 5, and 3 years as well as this year to date.
