The Million-Dollar Retirement Delusion

Writing in The New York Times of June 8, Jeff Sommer points out that a million dollars still sounds like a lot of money but isn’t enough to buy an average apartment in Manhattan—but is more money than 9 in 10 American families possess.
Jeff’s lengthy piece sounds a lot like what I said in the nineteen-eighties about retirement planning, how inflation impacts it, and why it’s so important to learn how to invest your own money (especially in stocks and no-load stock funds).
I strongly recommend Jeff’s article to you and yours.
